Edith (Keeling) McMillan

Edith was born on May 6, 1887 in Sioux City, IA as the 4th of six children to Levitt B. and Mary (Ross) Keeling. She married Archibald Addison McMillan on February 28, 1910 and had four children: Wilford, Robert, Eleanor, and (James) Donald. As the children got older, she and Archie entertained their own personal interests. She was a teacher in the Madison, SD area until her children were grown and then she then traveled in the southwest and Mexico before continuing her career in education. She was the High School Principal at Buffalo Lake High School in Hectar, MN from 1946 to 1951. After retiring, she moved temporarily to Vermillion, SD and then back to Brookings where she lived until she passed at the age of 69.
